LIMITED EDITION GOLF PRINT OF 500

The High Hole at St. Andrews Old Course as illustrated by Michael Brown, the illustrator of the famed calendar series for the Life Association of Scotland. A clever rendition with A-Z writings about the links — all surrounding the Brown artwork in a handsomely crafted border.

James Michael Brown (1853-1947) was a landscape and seascape artist whose passion for Golf was evident in his work. For the avid collector, the most sought-after works are those created for the Life Association of Scotland between 1892 and 1916. The quality of the illustrations is excellent and covered famous scenes including players, championships and course scenes of the period.

Golframes re-mastered the Brown illustration of the High Hole, adding soft color and highlights to create the focal pictorial of this "Alphabet of the Links" work. Unique to the Golframes collection, the alphabet covers the hallmarks of golf links from A to Z.

Included are alphabetical annotations of the links: Examples include A for the Alps; B as in the Bunkers; E stands for The Eden; G that terrible Gorse!; M that Marram grass; P for Pilmoor, its alias; T can only be Old Tom; and Z for zig and for zag. All 26 letters are covered. A great gift and keepsake for the enthusiast of golf design, golf links and golf history.

The clockwise reading of the letters is even more special, mimicking the Old Course and its historic routing and play before modernization and the current, counter-clockwise preference of play.
